Our Mission
To empower children and families to access non-formal learning and enrichment activities that will enable them to gain skills to improve their engagement with their local community and their future.

Working with children and families in disadvantaged areas of Reading
We work directly, and alongside many other organisations to enable children to take part in activities including, outdoor education, cultural and leisure trips, sports activities, music, dance and performance, competitions, and other participatory events throughout the year.
We work to provide opportunities and experiences which many children and families take for granted, but are too often beyond the reach of families and children in South Reading.
Our aim
This year we are raising funds for our minibuses. Geoffrey Field Junior School have raised £40 and The Ridgeway Primary School have raised £668.19. A massive thankyou to both schools for their help in reaching our target. We have also received £5000 this term from the University of Reading’s Community Fund.
Our goals
To work with children and families in disadvantaged areas of Reading, to develop their capacity and skills in such a way that, they are better able to identify and help meet their own needs and participate more fully in society. A key aim is to involve the community in our work and to empower families to aspire to improved futures for themselves and their children.

Making a difference
Recent, recurrent or ongoing projects and collaborations

Annual Aspire2 annual poetry competition
Children from 8 schools joined in with the 2025 event at Reading University. We had some amazing written entries and some absolutely fantastic performance pieces performed on the day. We love hosting this event each year.

Wellington College
In 2025 we were able to offer tickets for Whitley schools to see several shows at the college. This is just one of the ways that Wellington are supporting Aspire2 so we can offer enrichment and inspire the children of Whitley.

Year 5 Reading University visits
This ongoing project is an exciting initiative which aims to give children from Whitley the chance to experience a world-class university environment and ignite their curiosity about the world of higher education.
