About Us
Aspire2 aims for all children in all areas of Reading have an equal opportunity to access enrichment activities, that develop skills that are essential to successful, happy, fulfilled lives.
The charity was established through the efforts of headteachers, governors, and the community of South Reading schools that form the 'Whitley Excellence Cluster' (WEC), to support the Whitley Excellence Cluster and provide a programme of enrichment activities to WEC school children and their families that they would not otherwise be able to experience.
The charity is managed by a board of Trustees who are appointed from the local community, schools, services, and local organisations. We are also lucky to have Partners working with us, who provide additional expertise and help.
Funds raised by the charity support a range of activities including:
-
- Residential and day trips to Ufton Court - where our children explore outdoor education
- Arts and cultural experiences and activities, including partnerships with local cultural organisations and an annual arts festival
- Extra-curricular trips and activities for children and families in Whitley
- Outreach programmes with Reading University
We work alongside many other organisations to support the running of trips and events throughout the year for those in and around the Whitley community.
