Year 5 University Day

Each year, Aspire2 takes around 500 Year 5 pupils from Whitley schools to Reading University for a taster day.

The pupils experience life as a university student, with a choice of lectures delivered in the university’s lecture theatres. They also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the campus and to ask current students what university life is really like.

This trip is usually the first time any of these children have been to a university campus, and it helps them to aspire to a future that might include higher education.
